Do you have access to Campbell’s Soup Labels, Giant Food Store Receipts, or General Foods Cereal Box Tbps? If so, please save them for RCES and drop them off at the school’s main office, anytime, or mail them to RCES, 34 Schoolhouse Road, Washington, Va 22747. These items provide our schools with RE. equipment, computer software and art supplies. Thanks for anything you can do.
• Construction of the new RCHS ball fields is underway behind the elementary school. Many folks have been wondering what was going on there, drive by and take a look. When completed these fields will be an excellent resource for our high school athletic program.
• The castle on the playground at RCES has just been refurbished and is back in operation, thanks to the effort of the PTO, the Playground Committee chaired by parent and staff members Mrs. Shannon Swain, and parent and contractor Mr. Peter Kreyling. The materials used for the project are a splinterfree, maintenance-free simulated wood product made from recycled materials and should last for many years! We appreciate all of the time and energy that went into this project on behalf of our children.
• The next PTO pot luck dinner meeting at RCES will be held on Friday, Jan. 21. Dinner will be from 6-7, the meeting from 7-8. President Mr. Jimmy Swindler, extends an initiation to all parents to come with your children and enjoy a relaxing evening as we look for more fun ways to help our children and our school.
