School reminders
Rappahannock County Public Schools will close at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19. Lunch will not be served that day.
School will be closed all day on Thursday, Jan. 27 for Parent/Teacher conferences. Conferences will be held 1 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Both of the above are subject to change in the event of a weather closing before Jan. 19.
School will be closed all day on Friday, Jan. 28 for staff training.
Reminder: School will be held on regular schedule on Monday, Jan. 17 and Monday, Feb. 21. These were originally scheduled to be holidays but are now school days because of weather closings earlier in the school year.
Seminars offered
A series of four “Job Readiness” seminars will be offered by the Adult Education Program and the Virginia Employment Commission. Starting on Jan. 24 at the Rappahannock High School, there will be seminars offered on: Searching for jobs; Completing a resume; Interviewing and Acting the part. Seminars are $5 per participant. Meeting scheduled
Stonewall-Hawthorne District Planning Commissioner, Mr. Thomas Tepper, will present a special talk on village planning issues during the first Woodville Community Organization meeting of this century. The meeting will be held at the Woodville Baptist Church on Jan. 22 at 7 p.m.
Part of a county-wide planning initiative, the objective is to start a community dialog on a variety of topics ranging from town zoning and growth potential to quality of life issues and community goals.
