• Science Fair alert! For those of you in grades six-12, the Science Fair is scheduled for Feb. 2-4 in the RCES Gym. If you have not yet begun your experiment, it is not too late. In the past the fair has been a great success and each year the projects become more and more interesting. We are looking forward to bigger and better things this year!yFF

• If you are a parent of a Middle School or High School Science student, please get involved and encourage your child to try something new and challenging for the fair. You may be very surprised by the results!

• To prepare for the Science Fair we need parents to help set up and decorate. If you can spare an hour or two on Monday, Feb. 1 after school, we would be very grateful. If enough people volunteer, it will not be too much work for /myone. If you have a truck, and could help pick up tables from an area church and help set them up, we would be most grateful. You can Help! Thank You! Please call Jan Makela, Volunteer Coordinator at 9878259 or 937-5718.

• It is wonderful to have Mr. David Alther, RCES custodian, back with us after a leave of absence to care for his ill father. Many thanks to his assistant, Mr. Robert Lamery, for holding down the fort in his absence.

• Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to kindergarten teacher Mrs. Jennifer Deal and her family at the loss of her grandfather, Mr. Roy Leake. Mr. Leake passed away before Christmas and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.

• The Senior Citizens at the Nutrition Site in the Old Washington School have been busily cutting, clipping and sorting Campbell’s Soup labels. Under the direction of Mrs. Darcy Canton, these wonderful folks do amazing things for our schools and our children.
