the best way of bring local salaries to par is to do so over a two year period. This “two year catch-up,” that factors in an estimated annual statewide salary increase of 2.5 percent, would increase the salary budget by some $170,000, or 6.22 percent, for the 2000-2001 budget year. He further noted that there is significant competition for teachers, and that salary is the key to being competitive in the market.
Senior Trip
Approved
Student Representative Jami Gillis and Senior Class President Alison Baker provided the Board with the itinerary for the proposed Senior Class trip. The trip would take place May 1 through May 5, and would include visits to Orlando, Florida and Universal Studios, Cocoa Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and a one day cruise to the Bahamas. The Board unanimously approved of the plans.
Jami Gillis reported that mid-term exams start this Friday at the high school, and that last Friday’s track benefit dance was “not as successful as we hoped, but it got things going in terms of excitement.” She also noted that the school
