Despite a cloudless blue sky and a spring-like morning in early March, my mood was bleak and edged toward despondency. A lingering chest cold and cough, combined with tax time concerns, had draped a dark cloud over my spirits.
Then, in the early afternoon, I found the two tiny flowers of the spring beauty in the wildflower garden.
The flowers, not more than a half-inch across, announced spring. It is here. There is no going back. They lifted the cloud on my spirits and gave my heart a change of mood.
So it is with nature, when one takes the time to look and receive a simple message. Robert Frost’s poem says it
