Cub Scouts of Pack 123 Washington who were promoted to Webelos at a ceremony Monday night included Eric Bear, Downing McCoy Reeve, Jimmy Bywaters, Cary Smoot, Duane Fincham and Joe Jenkins.

Bringing home honors from the Regional Science Fair last week, Nathan Flinchum and Joey Dunagan were honored at an assembly at the elementary school Friday. Nathan received a second place for his physics project, and Joey’s engineering study received a third place award. There were nearly 200 projects entered from 26 schools in Piedmont Virginia. The Rappahannock High School Drama Club will present Agatha Christie’s “The Hollow” at the high school on Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24. Among the players are Liz Oliver, Susan Estes and Jason Fox.
Though the calendar marked March 21 as the first day of spring, Tuesday morning county residents awoke to find the county covered in a mantle of white - a reminder that spring’s weather, including its rains, isn’t quite here.
