Four area students were honored with the DAR Good Citizens medals by the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, at a tea Sunday afternoon, March 5 at the Rappahannock County Library.

Those honored were: Victoria Nichole Ferris from the Madison County High - School, Sonya Lee Anderson from the Rappahannock ; County High School and Brittany Anne Hammelman from Wakefield Country Day School. Also honored but not present was Christina Rose Dimeo from Culpeper County High School.

All were chosen by their peers for the following qualifies which a good citizen should have: Dependability, Service, Courtesy, Leadership and Patriotism.

For the award, they also . had to write an essay on American Heritage which ; each honoree read to the * assembled members, families and guests. After each essay was read, the student received ; her Good Citizens pin, a certificate and a monetary gift I from the chapter.

Thanked by the Regent, Mrs. George Bryson, were the four hostesses for the afternoon, Mrs. John M. Cheatwood, Mrs. Thomas L. Eastham, Mrs. Irvin R. Kilby • and Mrs. Dale Metzinger.
