We all have a golden moment in our lives and are subject to
forget the facts.
I attended the Rappahannock Planning Commission meeting on Wednesday, March 15. There were a large number of concerned citizens at this meeting who were opposed to the location of Lorin Maazel’s private school. None of these people are opposed to the school itself, only its location.
The issues to be discussed were an increase to the number of students allowed and to request that the temporary site be made permanent in addition to the pre-approved site.
County Administrator John McCarthy announced before these issues were discussed, it had already been determined that the number of students allowed is 75, and they were requesting an increase to a total number of 115 students. They were also requesting an extension at the temporary facility.
I felt as though I had been lost in time or had forgotten to buy the Rappahannock News at some point. I had missed something and so had most of the people in attendance. I had never heard the number 75 in conjunction with his school.
