On Saturday and Sunday, April 1 and 2 at 6 p.m., the Workspace for Choreographers will present “Still Life”, an evening of artwork, dance and discussion created by Sally Nash.
Ms. Nash, best known locally as founder and director of Rappahannock’s first dance/theater group, the Last-Minute Wood Company 25 years ago, has now turned her creative abilities toward painting. This evening explores the overlapping world she has discovered between making visual art and making dances.
Workspace for Choreographers, a retreat committed to the making of dances which Nash directs, is the setting for this event.
From 6 to 7:30 p.m. an open house will include the showing of her watercolors, drawings and mixed media pieces; a light supper will be served.
At 7:30 p.m. the audience will be invited downstairs for the premiere performance of “Still Life”, Nash’s most recent work for the Last Minute Wood Company. This dance which focuses on the process of painting, will be followed by a conversation with Ms. Nash using the Critical Response Process, and
