facilitated by John Borstel and Liz Lerman of the Liz Lerman Dance Exchange.
Lerman’s Critical Response Process encourages a level of respect for both artist and viewer often absent in informal feedback.
Through a series of pre-designed steps, the artist and audience take turns asking each other questions, exploring the values inherent in the work and in reactions to it, and ultimately stimulating the artist to make plans for future development. The structure of the conversation encourages freedom and comfort for both parties.
Founded in 1976, Liz Lerman Dance Exchange stretches the expressive range of contemporary dance with its innovative and intergenerational brand of dance/theater and community involvement. Lerman is the Artistic Director and John Borstel is Director of Development at the Dance Exchange.
At the end of the evening, “Still Life” will be shown once more - possibly to be seen through new eyes. Tickets for this event are $10. Call 987-9234 for reservations which must be made ahead as seating is limited.
