Although the investigation into the assault of a Viewtown woman earlier this month is continuing, Rappahannock County Sheriff Larry Sherertz believes that the incident was not a random act of violence, and that while people living in the area should exercise caution, they need not be fearful.
The investigation is “dynamic,” with additional facts coming to light which indicate that the victim was “more than just an arbitrary target” of the attacker or attackers, according to the sheriff.
