‘status of

Seeking a means of on-therecord explanation for his recent absence from a mid-month school board meeting, StonewallHawthorne District School Board member Franklin Warner suggested that meeting minutes should include a notation regarding “the status of board members" and the legitimacy of any absence. In his case, Mr. Warner said, the absence was due to a death in the family, and he noted that he was prepared to delay his departure had the board required his presence to reach a quorum.
The “legitimacy of absence" issue does however point more directly at Jackson District school. board member Rebecca Cordani, who again failed to attend. During the Public Comment portion of the meeting, Jackson District resident Katherine Treanor said that she was “concerned and worried about my school board member. Why is she not here?”
There was no apparent explanation for Ms. Cordani’s most recent absence, and Mrs. Treanor’s question received no response from the board.
