• The Class of 2000 graduated from RCHS on Saturday, June 10, with tremendous pomp and circumstance. This was such a wonderful group of students and they will be missed tremendously! Many awards and scholarships were granted, but one student whose name was mentioned repeatedly and who had the support of many folks in attendance was Irvin Phillips. We wish Irvin and all of his fellow graduates the very best as they continue to make us all proud.
• Many exciting things are continuing to happen in the Rappahannock County Public Schools this week! Hold on to your hats as you read about them!
• The Third-Sixth Grade Awards Assembly was held at RCES on Monday, June 12. Among the highlights was the awarding of the Fifth Grade William Sealock Science Award to a student who excels in Science and is a role model for other students. This year’s winner is Christina Naramore. Mr. Sealock, for those who do not know, was a Fifth Grade Science Teacher at RCES.
• Ms. Mary Horvath was an exceptional Special Education Teacher at RCES. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. Each year two Camp Scholarships are presented in her name to two deserving students.
This year’s recipients are Nicole Gallihue and James Orange. Each will get to' attend Belle Meade Camp for two weeks this summer.
