RLEP to
host town
meeting
A public forum sponsored by the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection will be held on Friday, June 16 at The Theatre in Washington at 7:30 p.m.
“Preserving Our Historic Villages” is the theme of the meeting, which is free and open to the public. The meeting will feature two speakers with expertise in the area of historic preservation.
The first is Peter Brink, vice president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington, D.C. Mr. Brink, who resides part-time in Rappahannock County, will discuss the Trust’s successful Main Street Program. He will also present a slide show.
The second speaker will be Neil Hughes of Waterford. Mr. Hughes is president of the Waterford Foundation, a local community organization which was established in 1943 to preserve the historic village in Loudoun County.
