Farm fair dance slated
There will be a Culpeper-Madison-Rappahannock Farm Fair Dance on Saturday, June 24 at the St. Luke’s School Gym in Culpeper from 7 to 11 p.m. Any FFA/4-H member can attend and bring two guests. Ages for youth to attend are 9 to 19 years old. Refreshments will be served.
There will be a special laser light show by “Thunder Music” Steve Miller, DJ and cash prizes. If you are a person with a disability and desire any assistive devices, services or other accommodations to participate in any of these activities, call 675-3619 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, five days prior to the event.
McGlothlin reunion slated
Relatives and friends of the McGlothlin family will host their annual reunion on Saturday, June 17 beginning at noon at the Rappahannock Park on U.S. 211 in Washington. Anyone with questions or desiring more information should call Cathy Smith at 937-5024.
Page derby set, applications accepted
Applications are being accepted for the demolition derby to be held Friday, Aug. 25 during the Page Valley Fair. Drivers must be 21 years of age. Cars may include any American made stock, hardtop automobile or station wagon. No oversize vehicles or trucks are allowed. Official entry blanks are available at your local auto parts store or by calling 743-4949. Registration is limited to the first 60 applications and yours will be acknowledged by return mail.
Amissville seeking contestants
The Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company is now seeking contestants for Queen, ages 14-20; Jr. Miss, ages 8-13; Little Miss, ages 3-7 and Little Mister, ages 3-7. For more information contact Sandi Carter at 937-4218. The carnival will be held June 28-July 1.
Health/Screening programs planned
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board invites persons 60 years of age and older to participate in the following Health Promotion/Screening Programs to be held at the Rappahannock Senior Nutrition Center:
June 18 at 1 p.m., program by Barbara Creasy, Stress and June 21 at 1 p.m., program on Medicare B by Bob Craig of United Health Care.

Tennis anyone?
Anyone interested in participating in regular tennis playing groups or on an individual basis is welcome to contact Hunt Harris via e-mailing hunt@mnsinc.com or calling 987-3366. An attempt will be made to get a list together according to levels of play and experience as well as preferred time of availability. Email, phone and fax #’s are recommended. Mr. Harris will also be offering group and individual instruction throughout the summer according to interest so dates and times of preference would be good to include.
U-13 Comets seeking players
The U-13 Comets girls are seeking experienced players interested in developing their skills and having fun playing travel soccer for the 2000/01 seasons. Girls born on or after Aug. 1, 1987 are eligible. Tryouts will be held on June 16 and 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Culpeper High School. Wear shinguards, cleats and bring water.
