Montpelier ’ is listed on * both the Virginia Landmarks Register and the National Register of Historic Places. The destruction of much of Montpelier’s irreplaceable historic fabric is thus a loss to everyone, especially the citizens of Rappahannock to whom this unique property has meant so much for so many years.
I am encouraged by the vigorous local effort to catch the perpetrators and trust that appropriate restitution will be ! forthcoming once they are apprehended.
