I obtained most of my information from his collection to write this article. On Sept. 29, 1807, Richard Harris II purchased Ivy Cliffs and 272 acres from Elijah Arnold for $500. He married Phoebe (Heaton?) and they had four children. Ann Elizabeth “Nancy” Harris, granddaughter of Richard Harris, a Revolutionary War soldier, married John Popham in 1833.
Her brother, Richard Harris III, married Elizabeth Miller and I wrote about their marriage in my article about the Sam Miller farm.
On Jan. 1, 2000,1 gave my daughter, Diane DeBergh Moore, and her husband, Charles Moore, my Ivy Cliffs farm.
