King, Queen contestants sought
The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Company is seeking boys and girls to participate in the annual Honorary Fire King and Queen Contest. Contestants will be selling raffle tickets for a purebred Black Angus heifer and a cash prize.
Interested parties should contact Charlotte Turnmeyer at 635-8278. This year’s carnival will be held July 26 - 29. The parade is July 28.
Democrats to host meeting, party
The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee is proud to be joining with the Democratic Committees of Fauquier, Warren and Culpeper counties in sponsoring a “town meeting” and pizza party with Mark Warner on Tuesday, June 20 starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Warrenton Middle School cafeteria.
Mark R. Warner, who is the Democratic Candidate for Governor in 2001, will be available for questions and conversation in a “town meeting” format which will begin at 7 p.m. and continue for about an hour and a half. Pizza, beverages and homemade desserts will continue right along with the discussion.
