At the high school last fall, college admissions officers from Virginia Tech, George Mason, and James Madison unanimously cited their number one question in evaluating applicants as, “Has the student taken the most demanding coursework offered?” Locally, concerned citizens also often ask if enough academically challenging coursework is offered to prepare Rappahannock students to compete successfully beyond high school.
