Rappahannock County Schools opened Friday for a half day and re-opened Tuesday after Labor Day for a full day.

Enrollment figures for the entire county are not available at his time but H.B. Winfrey, principal of the high school, said there were approximately 290 students enrolled in that school with about 85 in the eighth grade which is divided into three sections.

Mr. and Mrs. William Printz of Amissville "left Aug. 7 for a four-day trip to Atlantic City, N.J. They will attend the Miss America Beauty Contest while there.

Mr. Printz was awarded' the trip by People’s Life Insurance Company, where he is employed, for being one of the top 150 agents of the company.

A tented circus touring the Eastern United States will make a one-day appearance, Sept. 12 at the Flint Hill Fire Department, it was announced by M.R. Bradford Jr., secretary of the fire company.

Castleton Beauty Box operated by Nora Groover at the Old Thorn House ran an opening special. A $15 permanent would be available for the month of September for only $10.

Mrs. B.R. Cox is taking a Trailways Deluxe Autumn Fall Foliage Tour through the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina and other points. The bus will leave Washington, Va. on Oct. 12 and the tour will lasts four days and three nights.
