Burial followed in the Compton Family Cemetery in Rixeyville.
Ella Atkins

Ella Katherine Frye Atkins, 86, of Luray died on Friday, Aug. 31 at Page Memorial Hospital in Luray.
She was born Aug. 3, 1915 in Rappahannock County, a daughter of the late Samuel Jackson Frye and Mittie Catherine Rutherford.
Her husband was the late Monroe Kelly Atkins, who died July 27, 1953.
Mrs. Atkins was a seamstress at Aileen Inc. and also at Blue Bell.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at the Bradley Funeral Home Inc. in Luray by Pastor Buddy Caviness and Rev. C. Wayne Richards. Burial was in the Culpeper National Cemetery.
Survivors include six sons, Charles Heggie Frye and Kenneth C. Atkins, both of Luray, Marshall Monroe Atkins of Sperryville, Woodrow Paul “Woody” Atkins of Stanley, Robert E. Atkins of Warrenton and Ronald E. Atkins of Washington and two daughters, Charlotte A. Vaughn and Nancy C. Kellison, both of Luray.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Atkins was also predeceased by a son, Ned M. Atkins.
