Old Hollow reunion planned
The annual Old Hollow reunion will be held on Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Thornton Gap Regular Baptist Church in Old Hollow. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Please bring a covered dish and join in on the fellowship.
Rapidtran will not operate
Rapidtran transportation services will not operate on Friday, Sept. 7 due to a staff in-service day. Rapidtran is a program of the Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services Board.
Payne reunion scheduled
The Payne reunion will be held on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Rappahannock Park near Washington beginning at 11 a.m. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and a beverage. Table covers, plates, and plastic eating ware will be available.
Services Board to meet
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. at 15361 Bradford Road. Long View hosts art shoiu
Long View Gallery exhibits the new still lifes and Virginia Landscapes of David Williams, one of the areas most exciting young artists. The show runs through Sept. 24. The Gallery is on Historic Main Street in Sperryville. For more information call 987-3121.
Shooting match slated
The Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company is sponsoring a shooting match on Friday nights beginning at 7 p.m. starting on Sept. 7. Rules are 12 gauge shotguns; 25 yard shooting range; no scopes, no sleeves and 36 inch barrel maximum length.
Blue Moon schedule
Blue Moon Cafe will host Donna & David on Friday, Sept. 7. Wisher will perform on Saturday, Sept. 8. Blue Moon Cafe is located on US 211, just west of Sperryville. For more information call 987-3162.
Music festival planned
The sixth annual Rappahannock Music Festival will be held on the weekend of Sept. 15 and 16 in Sperryville. This is the free outdoor concert featuring local musicians of different ages, abilities and musical styles. Anyone interest in playing or volunteering to help present the two-day concert may call Brian Ross at 987-1010 or Mountainside Market at 987-9100.
Registry of Artists
Articulture, a newly formed group of artists, invite talented Rappahannock individuals of all medias to register for an upcoming data base designed to stimulate art awareness and business. Forms are available at the library as well as various small businesses throughout the county.
House tour, dried flower show
The annual house tour and dried flower show sponsored by Trinity Episcopal Church will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20 and 21. The Saturday show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday the tours will run from 1 to 5 p.m. For additional information call the church at 675-3716.
