There were bushels ofj apples, potatoes and turnips ! waiting to be made into soups and pies. These were always a treat on snowy days or when the weather was too bad to go to school.
There was always enough food in our basement to give each of us the assurance there would be plenty to eat until the garden started producing the following year.

The Old Hollow reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 9 at the Regular Baptist Church in Old Hollow. Plan on attending and seeing your old friends.
Our congratulations to Albert Payne, who has been selected as the new Pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church in Amissville. Services are held each Sunday at 11 a.m. with Sunday school at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
A revival is planned for Sept. 16-21 with D.M. Hardison from Cheaspeake as guest speaker. Mark your calendar and plan on attending.
The Payne reunion is being held on Sept. 15 at the Rappahannock Park at Washington beginning at 11 a.m.
