Clinic will be open Sept. 5
The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The clinic will be open Wednesday, Sept. 5 and not again until Sept. 19. Patient registration is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Public Health Department Building. Super Pantry program to begin
A Super Pantry program sponsored through a partnership between Rappahannock Cooperative Extension and Blue Ridge Food Bank will be held at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church beginning Sept. 11 for seven weeks. The event will be held on Tuesdays from 4 to 6:30 p.m.
Those attending will get fun nutrition education; hands on cooking skills; planning and shopping tips; prizes; a bag of groceries each week plus a cookbook. To enroll call Jan Besecker at 675-3619.
RRRC's annual meeting set
The Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission will host its Annual Meeting 2001 and Affordable Housing Workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at Fauquier Springs Country Club in Warrenton. The afternoon workshop will focus on strategies to increase affordable housing opportunities in the region. For additional information call 829-7450.
Junior Cotillion activity
The National League of Junior Cotillions, Culpeper Chapter, is pleased to announce the opening of the 20012002 season of dances and balls with the first dance scheduled to be held Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. at the Culpeper Middle School. The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board invites persons 60 years of age and older to participate in the following Health Promotion/Screening programs to be held at the Rappahannock Senior Nutrition Center
Sept. 11 at 1 p.m., program on “Preventing Falls" by Cheryll Green from Winchester Health Department; Sept. 12 at 11:30 a m., program on “As You Age" by Judy Stevens of Virginia Coop Extension; Sept. 19 at 1 p.m., program on “Gout" by Cheryll Green of the Winchester Health Department, and on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m., exercise program by Karen Gemdt of Culpeper Regional Hospital.
