With regard to the comments
in the Nov. 14 week’s paper regarding the Bull Run Trophy: I wonder whether we’re comparing apples and oranges here. I don’t know the size of the other six schools we’re being compared with but comparisons like these are usually meaningless.
Why, for instance, are schools given a zero if they don’t even field a team in a particular sport? It seems they could give each school a score based on the number of teams they field and the records of those teams.
I doubt these comparisons include the number of children taking part in the afterschool intramural program. Children who otherwise might not be participating in any sport. I
