Rappahannock is a place with spectacular views and a rural county character. These attributes are being rapidly lost in much of Virginia.
These are key attractions to most living here and those seeking to live here. One of the draws of Rappahannock, according to a Nov. 17 Washington Post article, is that “there are no cell phone towers looming over the countryside”.
Well for Amissville a proposed 200’ cell tower could change that in a drastic way resulting in major financial loses for its residents.
As the Post article indicates cell towers can reduce the desirability and value of surrounding properties. A buyer decides what he will pay (value) based on comparing properties.
