Alumni recognition, dedication
The RCHS Athletic Department is planning to hold an alumni recognition and dedication on Friday. Dec 7 at the first boys' basketball home game. The Junior Panthers wifl play at 4 p m., the Junior Varsity will play at 6 and the varsity game will begin around 8. The ceremony will occur at the end of the JV game just prior to the start of the Varsity game with Luray.
Included in the ceremony will be special recognition of the Boys Cross Country State Championship teams of the seventies and the unveiling of the RCHS Track Records mural that features many RCHS Alumni. For more information, contact the Athletic Director at 987-8575.
Flu shots available
Flu shots for high-risk patients will be given at the Rappahannock Health Department on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. Cost is $11 for flu and $16 for pneumonia. For additional information call 675-3516.
RCHS Wrestling fundraiser
The Rappahannock County High School Wrestling Team will be holding a Celebrity Dinner/Auction on Friday, Nov. 30 at the Rappahannock County Elementary School cafeteria. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.
A short scrimmage to introduce wrestling to the supporters begins at 6:30 p.m. The auction begins at 7 p.m. Dinner includes ham, tortellini salad, green salad, applesauce, bread, deviled eggs, dessert, tea and lemonade. The price for admittance is $5 and includes the dinner. Money raised will be used for equipment and tournaments.
Fine-free time underway
Now through Dec. 1 is fine-free time at the Rappahannock County Library! Remember that Danielle Steel book you checked out in 1993? No fines .... no questions asked! (Drop it in the book drop if you're shy.)

The RCHS Band is currently selling mum corsages for Homecoming for only $5 each. The colors will be in blue and gold for Rappahannock spirit. To place your order call Ginger Estes at 987-8575.
Clinic will be open Nov. 28
The Rappahannock Free Clinic, a local operation of the Fauquier Free Clinic Inc., is currently open on the first and third Wednesdays of each month. The clinic will be open Wednesday, Nov. 28 this month due to the Thanksgiving holiday and not again until Dec. 5.
Patient registration is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Public Health Department Building. For additional information call 347-0394.
County artists wanted
. The Piedmont Artists’ League invites all Rappahannock artists to participate in a nonjuried show and sale from Friday, Dec. 7 through Saturday, Dec. 15 at Art-N-More in Warrenton. The show will coincide with the first week of Old Town Warrenton’s Christmas festivities, with a reception on Dec. 7 from 7 to 9 p.m.
Artists may submit a maximum of five works at $5 per entry for members or $8 per entry for nonmembers. Call Fred Lokay at 347-0521 or e-mail at flokay6dtizen.infi.net for application forms and additional information.
Bus trip to pageant slated
The Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Locust Grove, invites Rappahannock resident to travel with them to see the Christmas Pageant presented by Evangel Cathedral, Upper Marlboro, Md. on Saturday, Dec. 1. The pageant is in its 15th year, but this is the first season in the new 2300 seat facility. The bus will leave the church parking lot at 12:15 p.m. and return at approximately 9 p m.
