played only one game this week and that was against Brentsville last Thursday here at RCHS. Winless for the season, the Lady Tigers were no match for either the JV or Varsity teams. Both matches ended with the Lady Panthers victorious.
The JV squad finishes their season with a 6 and 6 record. The Varsity team finished 8 and 4, good enough for third place and high enough in the final standings to be hosting the sixth place Manassas Park team for the district tournament.
That quarter final game will be played here at our gym on Wednesday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. If the Panthers win, they will move to Madison County High School for the semi-final and championship games which will be played on Saturday, Feb. 16.
Wrestling

Wednesday night, Feb. 6 the varsity wrestling match started off simple with RCHS taking two forfeits in the 215 and 275 pound weight classes to give the Panthers an early 12-0 lead over Madison County.
Then an excited crowd got to enjoy the most exciting match of the evening. Brian Brown took a first period lead of 6-2 over Steven Willie of Madison. Then the Madison wrestler controlled most of the second period to go up 7-6. The referee had given an escape point at the end of the second period to Brown but the point was not recorded. The two wrestlers then wrestled back and forth gaining points for reversals and takedowns and finally another escape. This appeared to make the score 11-11 at the end of the match.
The referee discovered the point missing on the official book and decided to correct it. Then a heated discussion between the Madison Coach Mike Sacra and the referee almost resulted in a penalty. The outcome was the official prevailed and Brown won 12-11 putting Rappahannock up 15-0.
The next two matches went by quickly as Madison made a run at the Panthers with two-second period pens.
