Tally Ho’s October meeting started with an trail ride at one of Eileen and Jeff Kelly’s trails, Kelly Pond.
After the tragedy of Sept. 11 the Tally Ho Club members joined together to raise funds for people who were involved in the tragedy.
A donkey donated by Helen Dixon at Dixie Meadows Farm of Viewtown helped us to raise $406.25 with the guidance of Betty Roberts of the United Way Culpeper Chapter.
In November Tally Ho took part in a side saddle lesson with the help of Joyce Ainsworth. Good posture was needed for this adventure. You place both legs on one side of the horse. This type of riding was for the ladies when riding in dresses.
As the holidays approached Tally Ho Club members decorated Christmas ornaments for the upcoming Colonial Christmas in Washington. Members all dressed in Colonial costumes and were the town criers for the event.
On the second day with no threat of rain the club members rode two horses, Molly and Bullseye to help with the town crying.
We also had a bake sale at the same time to help support activities.
The following weekend Tally Ho came together to help a local family enjoy Christmas.
