hberarts guild to meet
The newly formed fiberarts guild will be meeting at Misty Mountain Farm in Amissville on Wednesday. Feb 20 at 7 p.m. "We will be exploring the spinning and felting of llama fibers and anyone interested is welcome,” said an organizer. Beekeepers to meet
The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association will hold its February meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21 at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building at the corner of Davis Street and South West Street, Culpeper.

Rapidtran will not operate
Rapidtran transportation services will not operate on ! Monday, Feb. 18 in observance of Presidents’ Day. Rapidtran is a program of the Rappahannock Rapidan Community ; Services Board.
Registration deadline Feb. 15
The Rappahannock Soccer League is currently accepting 2002 spring soccer registrations. They are available at the Rappahannock Library and the Washington Post Office Kiosk.
Fees are $35 for first player and $20 for each additional family member. Some scholarships available. Volunteers are needed for coaching and an adult referee. Call the Registrar, Laura Dodd at 547-2968 for more information. The final day to register is Feb. 15, 2002.
Support group noiu forming
Hospice of the Rapidan offers free bereavement support groups to anyone who has suffered the loss of a loved one, with or without prior Hospice affiliation. The discussion group now forming will meet on Monday evenings for six weeks, beginning Feb-. 18 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hospice of the Rapidan Community Room. Pre-registration is appreciated.

Life stories workshops set
Life Stories Workshops help people write and share their life stories. Registration has opened for these workshops taught by Julie Portman. The three-day introductory workshop will take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 8-10. For more information or to register, call Ki Theatre at 987-3164.

Wednesday, Feb. 20. Hike-Run in Shenandoah National Park, meet at Oldway parking lot bridge on US 211,west of Sperryville between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Bring sturdy footwear, layerable clothing, water and post-workout clothing. Level: Intensive. (Not for anyone in questionable shape).
Tuesday, Feb. 26. Moonlight Hike of Old Rag, meet between 5:30 and 7 p.m. at upper parking lot for Old Rag on Nethers side off US 211 and Route 600. Bring layerable clothing, nourishment for self and back-up light. Level: Moderateto strenuous and very magical.
Last RAA registration date
Rappahannock Athletic Association (RAA, affiliated with Babe Ruth League, Inc.) announces that registration for the exciting upcoming tee-ball, softball, and baseball season is currently underway.
The last scheduled registration will be Saturday, Feb. 16, from 9 a m. until 12, at Bill Payne's Auction Gallery on US 211 in Amissville.

Fruit school planned
The Madison-Rappahannock Area Fruit School sponsored by the Virginia Cooperative Extension Office will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14 from 8:30 a m. to 1:45 p.m.
Topics will include: Chemical Bloom Thinners: New Apple Root Stocks; Insect Management Strategies; 2001 Internal Worm Survey; Controlling Diseases in 2002; Food Quality Protection Update; Apogee on a Component of Fireblight Control; Spray Bulletin Update; Sprayer calibration and 2001 Orchard Survey.
