Talmage P. Voorhies, 72, of Amissville died Thursday, Feb. 7 at his home.
He was born in Ruby, La., a son of the late Jeff Voorhies and Bertha Cannon Voorhies.
He served during the Korean Conflict in the United States Air Force. He was retired as a police officer with the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, DC.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara M. Voorhies; three sons, Tommy Voorhies and Corey Voorhies, both of Amissville and Jeffrey Voorhies of Georgia; one daughter, Brenda Kendall of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Family and friends gathered on Sunday, Feb. 9 at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton. Funeral services were conducted at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Pineville, La. with interment in Wise Chapel Cemetery in Ruby, La.
