• Did you know that we have a Technology Students Wall of Fame dt RCHS? If not, you need to stop by and take a look. Our students have placed repeatedly in National Competitions over the past several years and documentation of this is shown with photos and script along the hallway leading to Mr. John Norman’s Shop class. You will be very proud, if you take the time to visit this hall and see what these wonderful students have accomplished.
Technology teachers. Ron Vickers, Scott Schlosser and John Norman, are constantly encouraging their students to go that extra step, to be better than they are and the best they can be. Prepare to be amazed.
• Staff Training last week was quite successful and all of our students will surely reap the benefits of it. Janie Ray Smith, Education Consultant, showed teachers ways to more fully and accurately assess student performance. Our Special Education Director Nancy Allegretto worked with all Special Ed Instructional Staff as they reviewed the newly revised Special Education Registry (the federal regulations for the state of VA>. Several teachers had the opportunity to visit other schools to observe outstanding teachers in their specific fields. And more. This kind of training is essential if our staff is to continue to grow and improve to serve our students better.
• The next Substitute Teacher and Aide workshop, for those of you interested in applying for those positions ,in the public schools, will be held on Wednesday, March 6.
