In addition to his presentation of the draft budget. Dr. Gangel offered the School Board calendars for the next school year that were revised to change early release time for six of the seven early release days from 1:40 p.m. to 12 noon. The calendars art* annotated to note that “Early Release from 12 to 1:40 is exclusively for template defined alignment andor team meetings.’' The Board approved the revisions.
Dr. Gangel also recommended that $10,000 be approved for architecturaPengineering work on the multipurpose rooms for the elementary and high schools that were proposed in Rickmond Engineering’s athletic and recreational facilities master plan last month. The funds would be used to develop exterior elevations. more detailed cost estimates, and an expanded site plan for the rooms which Dr. Gangel said would coalesce school activities including sports, band, academics, the IB program, and community activities.
Board member Rosa Crocker said that she was “uncomfortable moving forward . . .” without addressing the track, and she proposed that the work on exterior elevations be dropped in exchange for work on a cost estimate for track facilities, and the Board approved
