exploded when the Health Department 25 years ago characterized the Sperryville water supply as one of the worst health hazards in Virginia and shut down a bunch of businesses. Judging from current County actions, the original decision to locate the Aileen plant at Flint Hill was a hazardous materials time bomb. It could be that the land use change, granted in the Sprint case will prove to be a time bomb, but I hope not.
In any event, I just can’t see how a policy decision to keep our streams clean, as God bestowed them, can be seen as an invasion of property rights or any sort of time bomb threatening our County.
