Even though the traditional festivities in the Town of Washington are not taking place for the Fourth of July many small celebrations will take place all over the county.
4th of July on
Courthouse lawn
Wet your whistle with some icecold lemonade on the Fourth of July from noon until 4 p.m. on the Courthouse lawn. There will be balloons for the taking, American flags galore, voter registration forms, Ben “Cooter” Jones bumper stickers and literature, and shade from a tent and the surrounding trees.
There will even be patriotic music playing and a microphone at the ready in case anyone feels the need to make a speech!
