The community was saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Barbara Gentry, who departed this life at her home on Wednesday, June 26.

Mrs. Gentry will be greatly missed by her family and the entire county. She was well known and loved by everyone who knew' her.

Funeral services were conducted at the Flint Hill United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 29 with burial in the church cemetery.

The Rev. Merlin Shorb officiated, assisted by Rev. Jennings Hobson.

Mrs. Gentry, who w'as a member of the Flint Hill United Methodist Church since 1934 was very active in her church.

She was a Sunday School teacher, lay leader, member of the United Methodist Women and church Board member.

She was a retired postmaster and teacher and served in other capacities as well.

Our condolences to her family and friends.

Rev. Merlin Shorb and Judy Burke attended the Virginia Annual Conference in Roanoke recently.

Leon Lillard of Winchester was a Thursday luncheon guest of his mother, Mrs. Edna Lillard.

The Flint Hill Baptist Church has worship service on the second, fourth and fifth Sundays at 11 a.m.

The pastor, the Rev. John Farrar invites the public.
