Recently named Interim Superintendent of Schools Helen Williams was introduced to the Board of Supervisors at their July meeting by School Board chairman Wesley Mills, and she received her initial Board of Supervisors “not yet” on her request for maintenance funds for the coming year. The School Board decided, at their payout meeting last week, to request the return of $41,803 in unexpended funds to be used to employ a “handyman” in the school system, and for the purchase of maintenance supplies/equipment.
Those unexpended funds had to be returned to the County by the end of the fiscal year (June 30), and the School Board had hopes that the Board of Supervisors would agree to give
