It is now quite simple, believe it not, to shop for and buy the best of Virginia right here in Sperryville.
Or, for those who prefer the virtual world, that shopping can be accomplished at home, with only an occasional visit to the “brick-andmortar” store to take advantage of the charm and hospitality of Virginia Appeal owners Amy and Brian Hicks.
That is something you will not find accessible on their website, www.VirginiaAppeal.com.
The Hicks, like many other “new” (i.e., those who have settled here since 1900), Rappahannock residents and business owners, had been drawn to the County over the years and approached it in ever diminishing arcs, like a moth to the back porch light.
They finally settled permanently in Sperryville, two years ago, and recently opened their shop, Virginia Appeals, in the old elementary school building in Sperryville.
The two-month old store has had one of those overnight successes that has been years in the making.
