Kappahannock County has no paid fire or emergency medical, staff at this time. I am not avvjare of any serious effort toward attaining such services any time soon. Tb complicate matters further, Rappahannock County has chosen to remain a small, rural community.
By default, that choice also limited the overall tax base which could be used to fund the paid emergency services.
As stands, any Fire and/or Rescue services this county benefits from at present, is only provided through the continual efforts of very few (relatively speaking) dedicated and cornmil, ted county volunteers. These very rare people give you and other county citizens thousands of hours of their personal time, family time and sleep time to ensure that 911 emergency services are available.
Even with their donated time and effort, the whole emergency effort would still not work if it were not for the Sheriffs Office, Sheriffs personnel, and the 911 dispatch system. All the portions of the overall emergency system must link and work together to yield
