The cell towers’ issue took a back seat Monday night at the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors’ meeting a^.the issue of paving a county road triggered the most controversy and some anger from county residents.
Without much ado, the supervisors granted Sprint, the telecommunications company, another year to start work on its system of cell phone towers in the county, as Sprint’s attorney made a qualified promise that construction would begin in the first halTof 2004.
But the board's 3-2 vote to approve a road paving project in the Wakefield district —despite hearing objections from more than a dozen local residents—caused the most controversy.
