After enjoying one breakfast and one lunch at the new diner last week, this writer can testify that the food is appetizing, the menu basic American diner fare and the premises are clean—the latter being something of an innovation compared with recent experiences under previous operators at this site. Prices are easy on the pocketbook.
For breakfast, two eggs with bacon, sausage or ham, with toast, costs $3.25. Add home fries or hash browns for $1, or corned beef hash for $1.95. Or how about sausage gravy over fresh-baked biscuits for $3.25—now that’s country. Don’t look for menu items in French or some exotic garden creature with a name like an Italian prince at this place; we’re talking flagwaving American favorites here.
For lunch, the menu offers a hamburger platter with fries at $4.45, pork barbecue
