the first six rotations. With the score tied at 13-13 Rappahannock broke through to score six points in a row. With the score 19-13, Strasburg scored only two more points before the Panthers won the second game 25-15.
With the completion of the second game many Rappahannock fans were brought to their feet with hopes of the third game being the final one. The crowd was loud and energized as the Panthers took the floor. RCHS scored the first three points and never looked back. Strasburg never led and tied the score only twice at 19 and 20.
With the score tied at 20, Rappahannock ran off five consecutive points to win the third game 25-20 and sweep the match. The win over Strasburg earned the Panthers their second consecutive Bull Run District title and a berth in the regional tournament.
Highlights of the night included 13 kills by Anna Kreyling and nine by Ryisha Cook. Anna and Ryisha also earned five blocks. Lara Kreyling had 19 assists for the night. Anna had four aces, Lara three, Ryisha two, while Rachel Gall and Mattie Nawrocki each added one.
Thursday, Oct. 30 was not only the last home match of the regular season but also Parents’ Night as RCHS hosted Manassas Park. With hopes of appearing in the JV championship, the young Panthers came out strong, winning the first game 25-7.
In the second game Manassas Park put up more of a struggle but still faltered under strong serving. RCHS won the second game 25-11 to win the match 2-0. Christina Naramore had 15 aces for the evening while Katie Burke, Nicole Brown, and Samantha Brown added two each. Rebecca Tupper and Elvira Yanez completed the ace count with one each. Samantha and Hannah Gall each had two kills for the night while Rebecca and Christina had one each. The win improved
