All the players enjoyed the season and look forward to the Spring Season with the Rookie League in place for seven and eight year olds.
The Rookie team coached hy Chuck Putnam, Gary Hitt, Walter Frye and Junior Pullen played a game against a team from Taylor on Saturday. With second baseman Dylan Hitt out with a season ending injury and first baseman Travis Pullen, the young team played well.
Ben Willson worked the putfield by throwing to shortstop Evan Hitt to stop advancing runners. Hitt caught a pop fly to end an inning. Nick Putnam and Chris Berry, filling in at first, made some great catches for some easy outs. The Taylor team won by a score of 8-5. This team’s last game is Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stuart Field.
All in all the Fall Season for the Rappahannock Athletic Association was a good one. Many players received experience that they would not have gotten in the spring playing against the Fauquier and Loudoun teams. In the spring there will be T-ball, Rookie, Minor, Majors and Babe Ruth. Watch for the registration dates starting in January.
