County Public Schools (RCPS), was initiated in January to seek new sources of funding and other resources. The committee’s report detailed the grantwriter's approach as well as several recent successes including a $5,000 grant from the Loeb Foundation towards a new sound and light system for Rappahannock County Elementary School, a school-wide suite of Geographic Information System (GIS) software and books donated to Rappahannock County High School, and a $145,650 "PEP" grant from the U S. Department of Education to help establish at RCPS fitness-based PE. programs aligned with Virginia’s Standards of Learning in PE. (The federal funds represent 88.25 percent of total project costs, to be matched by $19,360 in local funds, or 11.75 percent of total project costs.)
