A key issue in this hotly contested race was the "Men of Rappahannock County' controversial nude calendar. Gorfein’s husband. Hank, is one of the men who posed naked in the calendar to raise money for the high school track.
Oyster and his supporters thought the nude calendar was not an appropriate way to raise money for the school and was not setting a good example for children.
Wes Mills, who ran as a write-in, beat Ron Makela. 280-174. It was a special victory for Mills, 41, who had been chairman of the
90.7%
