Ronald L. Parker and Steve B. Mallory, both veteran employees of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) were honored recently during an award ceremony.
Parker, recognized for 25 years of service, came to work at the Washington area headquarters following graduation from Rappahannock High School and has been involved in maintaining the county’s roads ever since.
Warrenton assistant resident engineer Lindsay Walker described the transportation operator as “the kind of person everyone wants on a team,” adding that regardless of the task, “Ronnie gets it done effectively and efficiently.” \
Parker and his wife, Bonnie have two children, April and Kelsey.
Mallory has completed 20 years of service at VDOT. Hired as an equipment operator, he worked nis way through the ranks to become a crew leader before being named superintendent of the Warrenton residency construction crew.
“Steve is the guy you go to when you need something done,” remarked Walker in presenting him with a 20-year certificate.
Mallory and his wife, Jeanette have two children, Tiffany and Steven.
