looked at prior to beginning construction as well as possible reinforcements that would be needed for the deck. This could become costly to the county, so VDOT is preparing options for the Board of Supervisors to review before repairs begin.
Moore plans to talk with county officials and fire and rescue officials to form a list of bridges in order of priority that are in need of repair. However, according to Moore, some bridges may not need as extensive repair as others so they could be fixed quickly and the list shortened.
Repaired bridges
The bridges that have been repaired in the past 15 months in the county including a bridge on Route 1002 in Sperryville, the Woodville bridge on Route 522, the Old Hollow Road bridge on Route 600, the Battle Run bridge on Route 633, the Covington River bridge on Route 622 and the Laurel Mills bridge at Castleton on Route 618.

Michal added that the Nicholson Slope tower, which is along Route 211 halfway between Amissville and Ben Venue, is not getting the reception that Sprint had hoped. Sprint is looking into adding at least 20 feet to the tower to put it above the tree line in that area.
During the public hearing, resident Gwen Hayes said she did not look favorably to extending the Nicholson Slope tower since it was not part of the original plan by Sprint.
Michal said that due to the rolling topography and trees in Rappahannock County, it was difficult to have completely accurate predictive computer modeling* which is how the plans are designed.
Sprint has proposed to have a public meeting within two or three months to discuss the adjustments to Nicholson Slope.
