Fauquier County Public School System is recruiting for a Facilities Manager. This position is responsible for planning, administering, and supervising facilities related programs for the school division, including minor systems replacement, minor construction and reno^ vation, custodial services, energy management, and environmental remediation. In addition, this position serves as liaison for maintenance and repair of school properties by Fauquier County General Services Department staff and contractors. This position routinely coordinates activities with construction management staff to implement best practices and standards for construction and renovations that enhance the life span of facilities and achieve cost efficiencies in maintaining facilities. The Manager prepares and maintains the budget, and serves as staff support for the School Board Building Committee. The Manager reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Administration.
Qualified applicants must possess a comprehensive knowledge of facilities maintenance and construction of buildings; local, state, and federal building codes; safety regulations; indoor air quality and remediation; preventive maintenance; property management and governmental procurement processes. Demonstrated experience in budget development and management; program analysis and evaluation; preparation of reports and findings; ability to read, understand, and interpret laws; industry standards, and technical documents related to facilities maintenance and repair, safety of staff and employees, and construction and renovation of buildings, (e.g. MSDS, CAD, blueprints) is required. Preferred applicants should hold a vocational/technical degree and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience relating to the performance of duties. Experience as a facilities manager, construction manager, or related positions required. Salary range is $47,346.00 to $72,072.00 depending upon experience.
Successful applicant will be required to be available to respond to after hour emergencies. School Division provides an assigned vehicle.
