Pastor Heddleston is allowed to pick out the three families in the area that he deems need help during the holiday season. The families, which do not have to be members of Reynolds Memorial, are generally in Rappahannock County, but there have been years when families in Front Royal or other nearby counties were blessed with the church's' help.
Pastor Heddleston also wanted to point out the help of the Ecumenical Prison Ministry started by Rev Jennings Hobson III of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington. Representatives of different religions visit the jail every Sunday year round and on Christmas day they have a special celebration that includes a holiday meal and singing Christmas Carols. “We are all very small churches with small budgets. Together there are things we can do that we could not do alone,” says Heddleston.
