He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was a construction equipment operator. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Dale City, Va.
Mr. Durden is survived by his wife, Judy, three daughters, Melissa Timberlake of Stafford, Va., Tracie Bowles, Mechanicsville,Va. and Deanna Durden of Murrells Inlet.
Additional survivors include 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Ann “Bobbie” Miller of Lvnnville Tenn., Bonnie K. Foster of Gaithersburg, Md. and Gloria O’Neil of Lignum, Va.; one brother of Culpeper and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard M. Durden and William Harvey “Bill” Durden.
Memorial services were held on Nov. 22 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, in South Carolina.
